Let's see if I
can't write
my way
out of
Rejection gloom...
Rejection is the R-word -
in this poem
In a writer's world,
indeed.
In an artist's world,
in general.
One man's art
is another woman's
pretension.
Art is only objective in part,
the best part, but,
not the easiest-to-spot part.
Writing talent is most
difficult to discern
because so varied.
Writers are least limited
by the material world:
not even ink, these days,
which permits much range and variation.
Nonetheless,
rejection feels like
an empty pen
with funds for a refill
dried up...
and the year is 1962
Haven't exactly written myself out of the gloom...
But least you’re still writing…
