V-Day

I wasn't going to bother with a Valentine's day post...

...until these arrived for me yesterday (Valentine's day in NZ) from my main man and number one (only) follower, and I thought, sod it: I will do a V-Day post after all. Only I didn't get around to it until today, which is V-Day for the Americans who have way more lovers than we do anyway, so that will have to do.

So a happy V-Day for all the American, take-their-time lovers over that side of the world, and V-Day plus one for all the premature-ejaculating Antipodean lovers we have over this side (excepting my main man and only follower whose timing, in all things, is always just right...).

Writer's Bottom

... I do have writer's bottom.

Forget writer's block
I've got writer's bottom
It's not the same thing
It's much more rotten

There's nothing to be done
To save the writer's arse
At least if you're blocked
You can hope it will pass

So forget writer's block
Until you know what it's like
To have writer's bottom
Is to know how hard it is to write.

Consumer Con: More is Less

More is less...

I recently bought twenty toilet rolls for a discounted price and thought: more is less.

In this unopened shampoo bottle the sun reveals the bottle to be only two-thirds full. Or two-thirds empty.

I'm sorry the photo isn't clearer; it took me too long to fetch the camera.

Balance II

Think of the land and the sky
The dirt and
The air

Think of the rose and the thorn
The red tomato
The Green leaf

Think of the prettiest flower
The rarity of its
Bloom

Think of the hand and the heart
The Outside and
The In

Think of the mundane...

Our fridge has balance too.

Leopard skin

Boat on water
Woman in wind

Message on man's back
Bikini, leopard skin

Wet dog
Older woman
Rubs dry

On a boat
More real than the water

Old

Questions abound in youth
What will you think
What will you do

How will you get around
Face the Facts
Avoid the ground

Nothin' you do an'
Nothin' you say
Will be remembered now - fading away

But you chose the longest straw
You survived, you survived
You survived for more.

So let them ask
Let them wonder
What it's like when you're six feet under.

'Cos you survived
You survived
And to prove it,
You're Alive!

Up

Another poem about Up
The half-full cup

Everything's singing
School girls with brown skin, grinning

The woman in heels looks
exotic

The traffic makes way
It's hot but not so hot it's hoctic

The cash machine works
Having money, like peppermint, bursts

A sad girl is beautiful

The car music threads through life,
like gold veins of strength for the cars, insects and strife.
